Most people who choose this option for a gift for this occasion often look to birthstones as the foundation for the design. This is also a definite winning choice for moms. There is nothing more precious than something that represents our children.

There are some things to consider when making this purchase, though. First of all you have to ask yourself if this mom is ready for Mothers Day jewelry. Some moms are still in their child-bearing years when they are given their birthstone gems as gifts. This might not be the best idea because another little one may come along.

This very thing happened in my family. My mother had four children when she was quite young. We were all growing into adulthood and we decided to buy her Mothers Day jewelry for her special day one year. Her youngest child was sixteen years old and she had no plans of having another.
